By completing these 3 steps, you are now registered on the First Bank USSD platform. Now, this is how to purchase airtime using the USSD code.
Code to Buy Airtime from First Bank
The code is used differently for self recharge and third party recharge, we will be looking at how to do both.
To top up credit of the phone number registered to your account, you need to dial *894*Airtime amount# and enter your USSD PIN. Let’s say you want to recharge N4,000 airtime, simply dial *894*4000# and approve the purchase with your 5-digit PIN.
Note: Self recharge is for recharging only the phone number that is connected to your bank account. If you wish to recharge any other phone number you have which is not connected to your First Bank, you should use the third party recharge method.
To top up other phone numbers, you only need to dial *894*Airtime Amount*Beneficiary Phone Number# and enter your USSD PIN. Let’s assume you want to recharge N1,000 airtime for a friend whose phone number is 09054544476, simple dial *894*1000*09054544476# and approve the airtime purchase with your 5-digit PIN.
For both methods, your bank account with be deducted with the airtime amount on a successful recharge and the respective phone numbers will be credited with the airtime.
Mobile Networks you can Use
The code is supported by all GSM mobile networks in Nigeria and that includes the popular one like MTN, 9Mobile, Glo and Airtel. It can be used to recharge all.
Recharging airtime with the First Bank *894# is free of charge; you won’t pay any amount for self recharge or third party recharge. However, you would need to have at least N2 in your airtime balance as your network provider might charge you.
The maximum amount of airtime you can recharge in a day with the First Bank USSD code is not stated by the commercial giants. However, most customers have confirmed that you cannot recharge more than N10,000 in a day so we’ll take that to be the daily limit. There is no usage limit.
